These days, many employers are going well beyond the resume to find the right candidate. They’re headed online using search engines and social media to help them decide who they should interview, promote or hire for the job.

Never before in history have so many cool gadgets and nuances of the internet been readily available! From I phones and crack berries to Facebook, shopping and video games...anybody and I mean everybody in the world could find something to pass free time without looking too hard! But, when do we draw the distinction between having fun to full blown obsession?

But why?

My internet connection still exists. I was still able to log onto my Facebook this morning. So what's all the fuss about?

Is the Internet really under attack?

It is estimated that Canadians now spend on average about 85 hours a month online, which translates to approx. 3 hrs a day of surfing, downloading, streaming...whatever.

Now all this online activity comes with a price, because although the internet is "Free" , having access to it-- as we all know--is not.

And although we may subscribe to an internet package that has a fixed month-to-month rate, we still encounter hidden fees that leaves us asking ourselves, why?
